  • [es-pree de less-ka/-iay] (idiom) A witty remark that occurs to you too late, literally on the way down the stairs. The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations defines esprit de l'escalier as, "An untranslatable phrase, the meaning of which is that one only thinks on one's way downstairs of the smart retort one might have made in the drawing room."

Man, friend, I've been missing you something fierce recently. I know I know - you had to leave Chicago. It just sucks a little and it sucked a lot a little today.

It's 55 degrees right now. Wha? I had to wear a jacket today? I also felt a tinge of something unpleasant when I heard Bon Iver "as featured" on One Tree Hill. My shit is officially unhip. It also means that I should probably not get the conversion box and watch internet t.v. from now on.

It's a cold, wet, fall day and I'm longing for some summer toes...

Natasha and Elaine look so serious about their ice cream! :)

Cute toes, cute Kristen and cute ice cream!

It has been so damn cold here in MI that I have not been able to go swimming. Maybe it will be super hot in September and we can go swimming then (interested Natasha?)
